As with educational level, the relationship between eGovernment use and socio-economic status (shown in Chart 29 above) is not clear cut, except that there is a significant tendency overall for users to be managers and skilled rather than unskilled workers, although Germany is an exception to this with almost the highest percentage of users in the unskilled group (see also previous Chart 28 in relation to educational level). Users who are managers/professionals and/or well educated workers show the highest percentages in France, the UK and Ireland, i.e. typically the older Member States. On the other hand, users with higher percentages of skilled workers compared to well educated workers show the highest percentages in Italy, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovenia, i.e. typically the New Member States. Denmark seems to be atypical in that that there is a very even spread of users amongst all socio-economic groups, including the unskilled manual workers (see also previous Chart 28 in relation to educational level).
